Friendly Grazie

I couldn't think of a good name for this post so I titled it Friendly. The reason for this is because before I started traveling I was so worried about meeting people and making friends to do things with. As I travel everyone is genuinely happy to talk and to learn about yourself. No matter what nationality or language barrier people wAnt to make new friends and are all very friendly.

Grazie is the Italian word for Thank You, and I want to thank everyone I have met so far. Booyah

I have found that meeting people is not an issue and have spent most of my days with people I am meeting along the way and having a ball meeting people from all over the world.

Anyway I have seen Lot of Italy the last week, after leaving Venice I took a train to Verona where I met a good friend from university Michael Schallinger (from Germany) and we took off into Umbria (a central state in Italy) and got to see much of the countryside and stayed in a bed and breakfast type place he use to go to as a child.
We saw the towns of cortona, Assisi, castiglione del lago, and more. Many of the old towns were built up on the hill to ward off enemies. They were gorgeous.

This is where we stayed.

Anyway saw some of the country rather then just all the main cities so that was nice. We then made our way to Florence where Michael stayed one night and I stayed for 4. I saw many things and took free walking tours met a bunch of new friends and met up with Ryan (canada) who I had met previously in Vienna.

Florence was a beautiful city and had many churches and sculptures everywhere. Supposedly some one named Michelangelo was from here or something. Saw the famous Duomo which was stunning and completely covered by marble. The outside was much more elegant then the inside. I didn't go to any museums or in anything that they charged because everything was €10+ so I decided to not spend the extra money, but still got to see the fantastic sights.

Oh also my college buddy Jimmy Blair's sister showed me around Florence as she is on study abroad and we got gelato and went to an all you can eat appetizer buffet and drink. Very tasty. We ended up going out for a couple more drinks where I ran into Alejandro (Argentina) who I had met at my hostel and so we hung out and met some Swedish girls. They were celebrating a birthday and so we joined them in the celebrations. We went to a club where the girls had a VIP section and we got in for free. It was a great experience and stayed out way to late.

The free breakfast at my hostel ended at 930 so sleeping in was not an option and the free walking tours were at 10, no time for sleep when your traveling.

Off a wild hair I took a afternoon trip to Pisa and ran into Hildemarie (Netherlands) who also had been staying at my hostel and she led me around Pisa to all the sights and we laughed at all the funny poses people did with the leaning tower. We of course did funny poses as well. Went back to Florence and Spent the night walking around and woke up for another walking tour and free breakfast then snagged a train to Rome.

The problem here is that I forgot to validate my ticket so they kicked me off
At a random stop and now I'm sitting alone writing this blog in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully another train comes soon.
Duomo

Famous bridge can't remember the name. But it's covered in buildings that sell jewelry

Some sort of palace surrounded by replicas of michaelangelos

I would forget which one was mine

Statue of David (Like David and Goliath)

Failed attempts

Nailed it so hard it fell over

Cathedral and tower

Had to laugh

Had to take a selfie pan to show you I'm really stuck at a train station in the middle of nowhere

Everything has been a great experience so far and I'm learning lots about myself and others. It never hurts to say hello to someone, everyone needs a friend. Time is flying and I only have approximatley 2 more months in Europe. I have many more places to see and time is key.
